Sailability Sailing Teams

We have two Sailing Teams. Our physically disabled sailors regularly compete in local regattas and in international Para events including World Championships. They join a weekly training program at Hebe Haven Yacht Club. Our intellectually disabled sailing team compete locally on a regular basis and have represented Hong Kong internationally.

Sun Hung Kai (Scallywag) Foundation program supporting the underepresented youth of Hong Kong

In 2019, we were invited to start a new program so as to provide the opportunity of young people (aged 7 - 22) to try sailing. Free of charge, this program is aimed at encouranging more of the local communinity to try sailing and if they so wish - to progress to a formal HKSF qualification via the Sail Training Centre at Hebe Haven Yacht Club (HHYC).

The objective of 'Sailability' to kick start this program was to ensure new sailors entered into the world of sailing use a stable sailing dinghy - the Hansa 303. This boat is not only robust but very stable and is ideal for anyone.

We started the program in July 2019, Since then, 123 new sailors have taken to the water, made possible by the donation of three new boats to 'Sailability' by the sponsors of the program. Thank you!
