Programmes

Saturday Sailing

Operates throughout the year with morning and afternoon sessions available to those who would like to experience sailing and those who would like to progress to a higher level and join one of our Sailing Teams.

Volunteer Training

Our volunteer training days and volunteer refresher days are held throughout the year to provide those interested in becoming a volunteer an insight into Sailability and its sailors needs both on and off the water. Training is conducted by RYA qualified instructors and other trained personnel.

Special Education Needs Schools

Our schools programs operate on week days during term time. We can also provide training to teachers, parents and carers who may wish to accompany their pupils/children when sailing.

Team Building

We can offer multi faceted team building opportunities or taster days to corporates, schools, NGOs, charities etc. These can be tailored to individual needs whether it be single or double handed dinghy/multi handed keelboat sailing, kayaking or experiencing a day as a Sailability Sailor / volunteer.

We are always looking for qualified instructors and safety boat drivers.  If you would like to become part of our team we can train you to work with our Sailability sailors.

Sailability Sailing Teams

We have two Sailing Teams. Our physically disabled sailors regularly compete in local regattas and in international Para events including World Championships. They join a weekly training program at Hebe Haven Yacht Club. Our intellectually disabled sailing team compete locally on a regular basis and have represented Hong Kong internationally.

Sun Hung Kai (Scallywag) Foundation program supporting the underepresented youth of Hong Kong

In 2019, we were invited to start a new program so as to provide the opportunity of young people (aged 7 - 22) to try sailing. Free of charge, this program is aimed at encouranging more of the local communinity to try sailing and if they so wish - to progress to a formal HKSF qualification via the Sail Training Centre at Hebe Haven Yacht Club (HHYC).

The objective of 'Sailability' to kick start this program was to ensure new sailors entered into the world of sailing use a stable sailing dinghy - the Hansa 303. This boat is not only robust but very stable and is ideal for anyone.

Since the start of this program in July 2019, 78 new sailors have taken to the water, made possible by the donation of three new boats to 'Sailability' by the sponsors of the program. Thank you!
